Merry Christmas Eve!! I spent awhile looking for the perfect holiday outfit and then it literally fell from the sky, or from a big pile of tossed away vintage goodies rather. The plaid was key, but red plaid? Ding, ding, ding - hello holidays, I'm here!
Now, like I said the red plaid was the key factor to this holiday get up. However the black piping around the waist, black buttons down the front, and ruched sleeves gave this puppy all the extra embellishments that I wasn't going to have to add myself. (Woo hoo to that!!) All I was going to have to fix was the length and to take it in just a skosh to create the perfect holiday ensemble. I will add that it was very reminiscent of petite Thora Birch in holiday nineties winner, All I Want For Christmas, (it happened to recently be on ABC Family, hence the recall...) see below.
Post handiworkings, I threw on some patterned tights, my fave ankle boots (they're Aerosoles - my secret number one comf/cute/totes reasonable footwear line) and was ready for the holiday celebrating, ie. libations and pizza. I am from NY, so pizza on Christmas Eve is rather tradish.
And some final pre-Christmas words as I was feeling a bit poetic...
Twas the night before Christmas and all through the apartment, were bags of unwrapped gifts and holiday cards that haven't been sent.
The sewing machine sits on my table with care, with bobbins and thread and vintage goodies to rewear.
My camera has taken pics, before and after's galore, that are waiting to be shown and are promised not to be a bore.
Tis time to be merry, spreading love across the board, a resolution for the tens, time to donate and stop the hoard!
Season's Greetings! xo
