See, I said that I would show these bands in action this weekend, so here's a little recap!!
I got together with a bunch of the pals to attend the LA Beer Festival held at Sony Studios.
It was basically a big BBQ filled with all kinds of beer vendors - imports to domestics - pouring 4 oz samples, with food trucks (Grilled Cheese Truck and Nom Nom Truck happened to be there and are my faves!!) and a cover band playing a mix of indie jams from Phoenix to MGMT and LCD Soundsystem (pour a little out for my homies LCD Soundsystem who played their last shows in NY...)

Me and my similarly initialed pal ML rocked the sweatbands for the day...
...which you will see assisted in more than just absorbing the sweat! I loved the bartendress at Hollywood Blonde beer who kept getting asked by boozy frat boys if she was the model for the girl on the draft.
Just keepin' the peace with my pals, like you do :)
My sweatband came in handy for another reason too...it was chilly out and I decided to use it as a makeshift Kleenex. It did the trick and I wasn't about to wait in line for Porta Potties to snag some toilet paper.
As the day continued, I have to say I found the best dressed dude on the entire lot.
All together now...'we wear short shorts?!'
Since we're on the imbibing train, I figured I'd just combine posts and include a fun wine tasting event that I got to be a part of at the newly revamped Santa Monica Place that benefitted 826LA a weekend ago - Wine Riot!!
Put on by my fab friend Morgan, Second Glass' Wine Riot is an awesome tasting event where regardless if you know anything about wine, you'll have fun learning about it in a non-snootsville and unpretentious way! I used to work in a restaurant back in the day and literally learned more in this one night than I did from my years of slinging food!
In my outfit from Day 101 I got to mix and mingle with the other wine connoisseurs. Loved Rock Wall Wine Company...
...but loved even more the gals behind the delish wine! Shauna, Brianna and Chelsea were rock stars!!
From Justin Wine and Fess Parker to the awesome One Hope Wine who donates half their proceeds to charity...
...there were awesome varietals to try out all pretty much between a $9-$17/bottle range.
Ooh, and I got to enjoy a little bit of heaven courtesy of I Heart Pies, which I cannot wait to have again.
The LA based pie company had some of the most amazing sweet treats and they chose a name that is plain and easy - I mean who doesn't heart pies :)

...the night was festive and full of good times. We finished off the night with Freixenet and my gal Diana who couldn't have been cooler and more knowledgeable with cava...Spanish sparkling wine!
Leaving the night, clearly I have a penchant for hijacking other people's vehicles when they're unattended to grab a quick photo.
Tonight was no different...only wish Pretzel Chips had left the vehicle open. No, I did not try to open the van's door however if I had been a bit tipsier, then there would have been no question :)
