Oh boy is summer here!! Who else is sweatin' to the oldies with me?? I'm going with easy, breezy right now and this fabu cotton dress that Adina in Albuquerque sent my way was just what this gal needed!
"I know it's big and frumpy, but turquoise is a power color! The floral sleeves are great and I know you can just make it work Marisa!!"
I best listen to Adina...
I loved those sleeves too, so I began by trimming along the embroidered edges.
I was going to get rid of the billowy sleeves and tighten them up, so post trim...
...I took in two inches on each side, making a smaller armhole and tightening up the body a bit.
Instead of sewing and making it fitted throughout, I took some ribbon and tied a pretty bow around my waist.
Post-tie, it was time to give it a little zhuzh!!
New light and cotton dress was ready to wear!!
By day (in the crazy heat)...
By late afternoon (in the still crazy heat)...
By evening (in the still kinda crazy heat)...
I tried to maintain the same side pose throughout my day :)
PS, I've been addicted to 'Kids Week' on Jeopardy! this week, DVR'ing each episode, partially because I feel super smart answering all the questions, but also because these kids are so precocious! Anyway, I almost passed out when I saw this one. Literally coolest name ever...
She's like a fashion superhero!! Her cool name totally helped her win too!! I was rooting for her the whole time.
Adina, I love my summery frock!! Merci beau coup for sending :) Happy weekend friends!!
