I'm finally on the ground!! After flights, delays, layovers, oh my, I've finally made it to Chicago!! I'm getting to spend some time with friends here as well as a little weekend bacheloretting with LG!! It's my first time in this amazing city and already I'm in love!! I feverishly worked on a bunch of pieces to bring along with me, since I wasn't getting a ticket for my sewing machine to join!!
Today's comes from Paula in Denver!! Red polkadots, awesome pearly buttons...but just a tad too big!
"I think I got this dress because the tag read ET VOUS and it felt French with the dainty and lacy straps. Go to Paris in this dress once you make it fit!"
Since it's been a balmy 79 degrees, I wanted to rock sundresses on the trip, so this one was first up!
I had to take in the dress on each side to make it more fitted up top, so I pinned down close to two inches to tighten it all up.
Once the body was fitted, the straps had to get tweaked next.
I folded under an inch of material and grabbed some red thread from my travel sew kit (I didn't check any luggage so I had to be savvy with my supplies!) and began my strap tweaks.
After all the stitching, my new dress was good to go!
I started the trip off with a stop at Wrigley Field!! As a baseball lover, it was incredible to take in all the Cubs love and the history behind this stadium!
Did a little art viewing...
People watching...
Grabbed some other tourists to take pics...
And I just had to dip my feet!
We sat in the park listening to the Thursday night concert series when low and behold!
I looked up from where we were sitting and I was brought back to 1988 and one of my favorite movies as a kid...
Um, it was the building where Sara was clinging to life from! (And the one from the poster...)
After the trip down nostalgia road, a trip to the Hancock Building for sunset was next, before cruising back to crash for the night.
Was such a fun first 24 hours and can't wait for the rest of it...
