Today's piece is a fun one because it cost me nothing and was worn to the wedding of the fantastically awesome NC and MK! OK, here's the rundown. I had a bag full of goodies that I took to Buffalo Exchange to try and trade/sell and snagged a certificate to use in store. That little gift card got me this vintage lavender dress that would have been $11 for nada!!
It fit perfectly and there didn't really need any adjusting but I decided to snip out those white shoulder straps so they wouldn't pop out from the arm holes...
...and I also gave it a little front slit using my seam ripper to open it up!
I put on some vintage bracelets along with a charm that came from my grandma...
...and was ready for the weddin'! This was the wedding that I made the Black Swan-esque bachelorette veil for...
It was held in the gardens adjacent to the Los Angeles Public Library downtown...
...and was just lovely. I loved the white roses hanging from the trees in the background!!
We enjoyed a little cocktail hour...
...then found our seats!
Each table was named a different Los Angeles town...Echo Park, Van Nuys (our rival table of friends sat next to us there and lots of valley jokes were tossed), Rowland Heights which was filled with people unhappy with their location...
...and then our table, Malibu.
I was obviously thrilled with the location.
The food was served by the lovely wait staff...
...and the drinks were poured, well by us when we wanted them because of the close proximity.
The first dance was had...
...and I took this opportunity to get a close up look of her train. (PS, this dress was Vera Wang amazingness and looked insane up close.)
There was a photo booth too which we took full advantage of!! We tried to fit as many people in as possible and it seemed to work!
I snuck back into the booth for a few quick ones, knowing that they'd make their way here...
We got a few pics with the bride en route to the loo...
...before heading back to the dance floor! The playlist was a fun mix of 80s, old school hip hop, paired with some indie favorites. I brought a Stella onto the floor and realized I was having too much fun when it started overflowing and running down my arm.
This was also my cue to put on the flip flops!
More dancing and hijinks ensued including some facial hair fun...
...and some fountain dipping.
After the final song was played (Purple Rain!) we gathered our belongings (my gold heels!), grabbed a centerpiece (per the bride's request)...
...and took our favor (a duo of chocolate/regular Rice Krispie Treats) home with us. Well, not exactly home as mine were eaten before the halfway point was even hit. They were dee-lish and the perfect late night snack. Such a beautiful night for two amazingly fantastic people.
Hope you all have a most wonderful weekend!!
