Back to the remakes today!! This pink dress was one that I put together for October to celebrate breast cancer awareness month, and even though it's November, we're still going to wear it to show support!
Headless Marisa models the before...
My favorite part of the piece...the velcro!! There were these thick, strips of velcro holding a part of the dress together!
Will the velcro stay???
So, here was the piece from the front - there was a whole panel being kept in place with velcro.
I removed this panel, folded each side of the V under, and pinned it in place. This is actually going to become my new back of the piece in a few steps.
Now, the panel with the velcro was removed, however the velcro will still come in handy to keep the new back together.
I took both pieces and stitched them down to the V - one piece on the underside of the fabric and the other piece in the corresponding spot on the top of the fabric.
I loved the little peplum at the waist, so I cut the dress shorter to really emphasize!!
With the piece newly shortened, it was time to work on the new front of the piece. What really solidified this back to front move, was that there were already seams at the bust that would totally work for making it fit! There was also a hole!!
Easy hole fix?? Trim a line down the center...
...fold the piece under...
...and sew everything in place!
From dress, to fab new top!!
I love how this piece works with the back panel removed in the back. Just a little dip and it feel super chic!
My top even matched the bus benches all across the city! I've been obsessed with the florals and have been wanting to find just the right piece to wear as I sat on one. Today was the day!!
I'm loving the red mixed with the pink too!
I'm having a blast matching new colors with my hair. Pink is one of my new faves!!
