After I got engaged, I was super excited to craft a few things to wear for a little celebration we had with friends. And by craft a few things, I mean make some totally personalized accessories to honor my new name of “fiancée.” 😂 Honestly, get me a nameplate necklace, monogrammed mug, anything with my initials on it and I’ll wear the crap out of it!
With my trusty bead kit and beading accoutrements that I snagged at the craft store, I got to DIY-ing. Engagement party flair, here we come.
I grabbed a medley of beads, charms, jewelry clasps, thread/cording and began to break down what I wanted to make!
There are SO many options when it comes to what to thread beads with. From wire, to elastic, to waxed cotton cording, you cannot go wrong with your selections! I had a bunch of options on hand and went with fishing line because I didn’t need stretch and was going to use either a spring ring or barrel closure as a clasp.
I started ideating on bead colors and what to spell out with my letter beads which really shouldn’t have taken too long, but as a total Libra I cannot make a decision to save my life. So 20 minutes later…
I went with “amour” for the first bracelet word because not only does it mean love in Italian, we chose Italy as our wedding destination. It felt very symbiotic, you know?! After tying four knots in my fishing line to the jump ring, I began to bead! I added red beads, a heart bead, and then my letters and followed the same pattern on the other side. Then I tied four more knots to the spring ring and then took the excess line and restrung it back through the bracelet to hide it!
I happened to see this cute cuff and matching silver charm lettering at Joann, that was a no brainer to add to the arm party goodness!
And after stressing about the pattern and color of the beads to use for the next bracelet, I went with a fun black and silver combo and spelled out, fiancée. Because I have no chill. 😆
The final bracelet trio turned out looking fabulous!
Layered with some of my other favorite pieces, my new personalized flair is ready for celebration!
Will there be a Mrs. bracelet to come? You know it! (I already got the charms - check out the top photo!)
Nothing like cute DIY bracelets to give the bride or groom-to-be the warm and fuzzies!
