For the Makers DIY Bracelet & Phone Pouchette + Giveaway!

The weekend has arrived! I'm still dreaming of Bali...

...so I figured I'd head back a few weeks for another Bali post showing some fun projects that I made with For the Makers. Not sure if you guys are familiar with them or not, but they're this amazingly crafty, well-curated subscription service for DIY projects. (PS, there's a rad giveaway on this post too - keep reading for details!) A girlfriend of mine had been a fan for a while, so when I checked them out I fell in love. Everything feels like it should be in Anthropologie. (One of my favorite spots to do project research!)

They were lovely to send me a few things to play with, first being their La Pouchette project. A little leather pouch for my cell phone? In.

All the materials come with each project, so all you have to do is follow the tutorial steps online. I placed and traced my leather...

...and trimmed carefully on the lines.

I added the button stud...

...and had my pouch ready to use! It was the perfect travel case to take out with me when I was going to the beach and didn't want to carry a huge bag.

Plus, it was way easier (and smaller) to fit this beneath the seat of my moto!

I love this emerald color too!

My second batch of projects came from their March, Hello Trouble kit...

Lots of color, which made me a happy camper!

I loved the "Local's Only" bracelet that came with a bangle, silk trim, glue, and rhinestones.

The actual bracelet is supposed to look like this...

...so I pulled up the tutorial on my phone to get started. It was the perfect outdoor activity to work on while I took pool breaks!

I added my stones after the trim was wound...

...and then let it dry!

The kit was awesome for a bit of travel craftiness - I just tossed the box in my suitcase and all the supplies were in one place. And sidenote, I've been getting the most compliments on the bangle. I layer it with other bracelets and it just pops.

Giveaway: License Plate Bracelet

I'm working on this fabulous piece at the moment (you'll see the after look on Monday once I'm through)...

...so in the interim, I have an awesome giveaway from reader Sarah's super crafty etsy shop, Sweet Someday. She reached out my way, filling me in on the incredible license plate upcycling that she rocks out. She's a master with that saw!

I was completely blown away!

"All of my items are either upcycled or repurposed, with a little bit of vintage mixed in." Check out her amazing handiwork - that star is ridiculous and just screaming, wrap some lights around me and hang me up this Christmas!

I can only imagine how tricky it must be working with metals like this. I prick my fingers all the time with pins, so there's no way I'd leave unscathed after working with license plates as a medium.

Sarah is giving away one of her license plate cuffs, like the Minnesota one she made below...

Instead of the state, unless you're a Minnesotan (is that right??) and would like that on your cuff, you can choose an initial for a monogrammed option.

I'm still in road trip mode, so this bracelet is the perfect piece of jewelry for summer travel coming up! I would totally choose an "M" to don as I drive up the coast. Uncommon Goods Giveaway!

I'm so excited to be partnering up with Uncommon Goods again for another giveaway!! Woo!! I love the DIY goodies that they have and tried out this Potholder Loom to test out my retro crafting skills. It's been a while since I've made these - I was a camp counselor over 10 years ago - so it was fun to pretend I was back on Long Island wearing T-shirts with "STAFF" written on the back!

The kit came with all the supplies needed to craft a potholder and the fabric strips were in awesome colors unlike the not-so-pleasant ones at camp. It felt like there was always an abundance of browns and oranges when all I wanted were blues and greens!

Since mom is getting this sent to her, I picked a few of her favorite colors to play around with.

I won't show you the after shot yet, just so Mom is a little surprised, but I'll have to have her take a photo with it to share with everyone on Mother's Day!
