I've been playing with some color mixing/painting/dyeing and when I saw Stacy's piece, it fit right in with all my work-in-progresses :) You'll soon see them here, promise!
Hi Marisa,I have been a huge fan of your blog for a while now and I have been inspired to do a few of my own remakes (with the help of my best friend Jen who makes fashion accessories, purses, etc. - and who taught me to sew last year). This piece was adventurous…
Wonder what she’ll do? I’m loving the sleeves :)
We ended up dyeing it, taking it up a bit, and shortening the sleeves!!
Voila! Thanks for the inspiration!
The new color of the dress is awesome - I love the muted flowers now and it has a tie dyed feel! I must say that I would have totally kept the sleeves, but that's just me and my vintage/ruffle-trimmed tastes :) (I have a top that I made from a dress with the same sleeves about 10 years ago that I'm obsessed with - will wear soon to show!) This really is perfect for summer with those cute capped sleeves too. Way to rock it Stacy!!
