This piece had to be mine solely because of the bold floral print!
There was a lot going on, but the print was too amazing to pass up. I loved these bright colors...
Just a few small tweaks until this becomes ready-to-wear! (PS, you'll also get two options of how to style it too!) Continue reading to see...
I started off by trimming a few inches from the bottom of the dress.
I'm doing this nor only for length purposes, but I'm going to use the excess as a matching belt!
Because it's a thicker polyester, I skipped hemming the piece and just used Fray Check instead.
I added Fray Check all the way around the bottom of the piece and let it dry.
That's all! The after piece looks just like this...
The print is a smidge too bold for my liking to wear solo so I styled the dress two different ways. For the first look I added a pink cardigan from H&M on top along with nude Nine West heels.
The pink is bold, however it works with the piece! It gives just the right amount of "break up assistance" to the dress, minimizing the strength of that colorful and bold pattern!
For the next look, I added a skirt on top to make the piece a shirt!
This vintage green skirt helps break up the pattern while still remaining super colorful. A pair of Steve Madden heels and Trina Turk clutch round out the ensemble.
Even adding something as simple as a jean jacket works too!!
