I'm a total note writer, snail mail giver, and am completely obsessed with stationery. Don't believe me? Check out my stationery drawer. Yep, drawer.
Suffice it to say, when I opened Sarah's package and saw her card I went bananas. I mean, check it out...
The coolest, right? Then when I opened it and saw her super fun handwriting...was completely obsessed!!
She sent me this totally lovely dress that was pretty amazing as it was. Sheer, pleats, lavender and yellow palette? Kind of perfection.
Then, I saw the zipper...
This won't need much work and it'll be in wearable condition in a jif!
So, we begin with the case of the missing teeth...
The investigation began and I couldn't find where they disappeared so, I just went to zipper removal mode and took them off with my seam ripper...
...and was left with this. This went in the evidence pile (aka trash).
I matched the zipper length and replaced the old zippy with a brand new yellow one to match!!
I decided to remove the sash at the neck...
...and tweak what I was left with. I love tying a bow at the neck of a blouse and wearing under a vest, but I thought this would be the perfect summery dress with the neck open.
With all my pins in place, I started to sew everything up!
By day, I added my flips and a knit belt...
...and by night I replaced the belt and Havaianas with some heels and a navy waist cincher with a big brass rose in the center. The fishy necklace was kept on all day though!
Because the dress was on the sheer end of things, I added a longer skirt slip and a bra/bodysuit up top. It was dainty and still totally had a chic vintage aesthetic. I had a lovely, casual little get together with more friends who were in town for a hot second...
...and got to catch up over guac, Dos Equis, and lots and lots and lots of laughs. Those are the best and most memorable nights :)
